The Association for Vertical Farming Project UG (AVFP) is a start up company in the fields of indoor and vertical farming projects. It is 100% owned by the world wide active non profit organization Association for Vertical Farming e.V to execute, run and manage projects in this field. AVF UG will partner in VF projects, examine business plans and support startups with expert knowledge.
AVFP has the unique access to a wide international pool of experts, companies and research institutions to develop, organize and manage projects mainly for indoor farming with controlled environment agriculture technologies. Projects incorporate formats like workshops, conferences, feasibility studies, as well as planning of research, pilot or demo projects.
Solve the Question
Indoor farming is gaining significant traction worldwide but especially in the United States, Europe and Asia because it offers the ability to produce more while using less resource. Other reasons are pressure from climate change, urbanization, population growth and a need for safe fresh food with high nutritional value. Reliable business models, knowledge and expertise in this nascent industry are still a big challenge and often an obstacle for a successful start up of VF projects. There are a few best practices to follow because up to now there are no readymade solutions; each project needs its individual, local adaption to the market, the region and customers. Another challenge is the interdisciplinary knowledge like engineering, software, horticulture, architecture, plant science and LED knowhow you need to set up a vertical farm.
